A calm, creative environment where young people can rebuild confidence and rediscover learning in their own way
Be Creative Cornwall is a calm, creative studio space for young people who learn differently. We work with high functioning young people with SEND who have a genuine passion for the creative, as creative learning is the foundation of everything we do.
Our studio environment is built around the belief that for the right young person, creative learning unlocks confidence, connection and growth in ways that traditional education simply cannot. If your child comes alive through making, doing and expressing, this was designed for them.
Our provision is best suited to young people who are able to manage their own personal care, including toileting and eating, and who can participate safely and respectfully alongside others.
Maintaining a calm and supportive environment is essential for the wellbeing of all students, so we have a clear expectation that students are able to engage without aggressive or unsafe behaviours.
A great deal of thought goes into how we build our small groups. We take time to understand each student’s personality, needs and interests so that we can pair young people together in ways that support positive relationships and a nurturing learning environment.
If you are unsure whether Be Creative is the right fit, we would always encourage you to get in touch.
Before a student begins with us, we usually arrange one or two informal meetings with the young person and the adults supporting them, whether that’s parents, carers, teachers or advocates. These conversations help us build a well-rounded picture of your child and make sure Be Creative is the right environment for them and for the group.
We regularly welcome families to informal meetings and open days where you can visit the studio, meet the team and get a real sense of how our creative environment works in practice.
Our passion for this work comes from lived experience. We know how hard it can be when young people are let down by systems not built for them. Be Creative exists to offer a different path, one where creativity, understanding and patience help young people rediscover their confidence and voice.
As a funded provision, Be Creative Cornwall directs its full focus toward its students during sessions, meaning parents and carers are not able to attend the studio. This protects the learning environment and ensures the safety of every young person in our care.
For families who need more direct involvement, the SEND Compass is Be Creative’s dedicated support system designed just for you. It provides structured access to advice, resources and ongoing guidance as you navigate the education and SEND system, with the same values and creative approach at its heart, but with far greater flexibility for parental involvement and one-to-one attention.
The SEND Compass is a paid service, available directly to families without the need for a school referral.
EHCP and EOTAS funding can seem complicated, but we break it down into clear steps. We handle the paperwork and timelines so you can focus on what matters most for your child.
Whether you are at the beginning of your diagnosis journey or looking for a more creative approach to support, we are here to walk with you.
