Services

How we work

We start by listening. Every young person who comes to Be Creative has a different story — different strengths, different challenges, and different experiences of education. Rather than fitting children into a programme, we build support around the individual.

Our approach combines creative learning, therapeutic practice and family guidance to help young people re-engage with learning, develop confidence and find their own voice.

Creative learning

Our creative learning sessions use art, music, sculpture, digital media and hands-on making as a vehicle for learning and self-expression. Sessions are flexible, student-led and designed to rebuild a positive relationship with learning at a pace that works for each child.

Therapeutic support

We offer therapeutic support for young people who are struggling emotionally alongside their learning differences. Our practitioners work in a calm, non-judgemental space — helping children develop resilience, self-regulation and the tools they need to navigate the challenges they face.

Parent support

Navigating the SEND system is complex and often exhausting. We offer practical guidance and emotional support for parents and carers — helping families understand their options, advocate for their child and find a way forward.

Alternative Provision & EOTAS

We provide alternative educational provision for young people who are struggling within traditional school environments. Working with small groups and high staff ratios, we create structured, meaningful provision for neurodivergent students and those experiencing school-related anxiety or burnout.

Four ways we support young people

A Space Where Young People Feel Seen and Understood

Many of the students who come to Be Creative have spent years feeling misunderstood within traditional education. Our environment is built around listening first — understanding the young person, their experiences and how they learn best. By creating a calm, supportive space where there is no pressure to “fit a mould”, students begin to feel safe enough to re-engage with learning and express who they are.

Helping Students Find Their Voice

Creativity allows young people to communicate in ways that traditional classrooms often don’t allow. Through sculpture, art, music, digital media and hands-on making, students are able to explore ideas, express emotions and develop confidence in their own voice. As students gain confidence in their abilities, many begin to feel more comfortable sharing their thoughts, ideas and ambitions for the future.

Learning at Their Own Pace

Every young person learns differently. At Be Creative we allow students to work at their own pace and explore areas that genuinely interest them. Students are encouraged to take ownership of their learning, helping shape the direction of their projects and the skills they develop. This flexible approach helps rebuild a positive relationship with learning and reduces the pressure many students have previously experienced.

Building Resilience and Self-Regulation

Alongside creative development, we focus on helping young people build resilience and develop the skills needed to manage challenges. Through a supportive environment, consistent guidance and opportunities for independence, students gradually develop greater self-regulation, confidence and belief in their ability to navigate the world around them.

Support for parents navigating hard choices

Parenting is difficult terrain. We offer expert advice and practical resources through our SEND Compass to help families find their footing and move forward together.

The SEND Compass is Be Creative’s dedicated support system for families. Designed for parents who need ongoing guidance, it provides structured access to advice, resources and direct support as you navigate the education and SEND system.

The SEND Compass is a paid service, available directly to families without the need for a school referral.

Refer a student

If you are a teacher, SENCO or other professional working with a young person who you feel would benefit from Be Creative’s support, we’d love to hear from you.

To make a referral, simply get in touch via email or our contact form. It helps to include a brief overview of the young person’s needs, any existing diagnoses or assessments, and what you feel they would benefit from most. We’ll take it from there.
